i know a lot of people were upset when mash ended.
i never was a big fan of the show, probably because it was on a meeting night, but it was a very popular show.. i loved hill street blues, taxi, all in the family, the rifleman, even superman!
i wished those shows never stopped!.

i knew of a handful (which is too many) that were molested by a jehovah's witness.
it was not typical in my experience.
what about you???.
Yes , a lttle girl fondled by a study at a bookstudy. The Girl & family were moved to a different BS.The fondler was later baptisted, there was no public reproof.
Yes also to a second case. Don't know the details.
my mother let it slip the other day that all the families in their hall are putting together a small suitcase.
inside this suitcase are to be things that you will take with you if given a 5 minute warning that the great tribulation is starting and you need to leave your home.
my father seemed quite embarrassed that this slipped.
am just remembering the awful headache that came with having to put say " how do we know that mary was a virgin?
" subject matter , into a "first call" setting with a " work on gestures" ... all together into a script that would kinda make sense!!
all in 5 mins with at least 2 scriptures used, both of which normaly seemed to have nothing to do with the subject matter!.
My first 2 talks , I was assigned to work with Sister Schizophrenic .
We would practice & practice , I really liked her.
Then I would go over what I'd say if she took one of her mental vacations in the middle of the talk.
She kept it together both times but my nerves were shot.
At first I thought why would they do that to a new person?
Then I realized no one else would go on stage with her.

this is one post i had always hoped i would never have to do, but after a long and brave battle, my beloved brother in law has died.
i have done a couple of threads on this in the past, so many of you know the battles he was facing.
he had been diagnosed earlier this year with myelodysplastic syndrome and the mortality rate of this disease is quite high.
How very sad, you & your family are in our prayers.

for me, i don't, i like to keep the house clean of pet hairs, etc...., that does not mean i hate pets.
i even watch the animal planet channel from time to time, no pets inside, all is good!
.
Over the years we have had:
6 dogs
2 cats
6 turkeys
1 duck
dozens of chickens
even more rabbits
several tanks of fish
tarantulas
turtles
tadpoles
hamsers
gerbils
a hawk
and many insects
I look forward to no longer having a pet.But it will be several more years. The dog knows how I feel, I try to let him know it isn't him , but me.

for many jw's i know personally, who suffer from chronic illness, the hope of 'the new system' is what they look forward to.
you know, being able to throw the cane away, lose the wheelchair, see again etc.. now that you're out of the organisation, how do you deal with chronic illness?
if you suffer with an affliction, disease, impairment, how has your hope changed?
I accept the limits imposed on me by my illness, carefully choose to spend my time, energy on what is most important to me.
I tried to do this as a witness, it was a constant struggle between what others thought I should be doing & I did.
Except for my closest friends & family , people don't know I have a chronic illness. There is not a judgement on me just because I don't do something. I am excepted for who I am, I don't need to make excuses.
I have a postive outlook about my illness now.
I realize there are many people who live their lives & never stop to choose what they want & just go with the flow.
My illness caused me to make choices earlier in life than I think I would have had I been full of good health.
I am healthier now because I take better care of myself. My mental health improved when I left the org. too.

a friend is looking for the following, anybody remember?.
do you remember some time ago, [i think it could have been as far back as two years ago] there was an article on jwn which showed archaeological support for early worship rendered to christ?
from what i remember it refered to the excavation in judea of the first or second century where an early christian church was unearthed.
Don't know that article but would like to see it.
This one is interesting.

what is your myers-briggs personality type?
if you're unfamiliar with it, you can take a test here: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp.
be warned that the test can be wildly inaccurate.
INFJ, too! Always have been, taken the test many times for over 15 years.
